Compressed Air Heat Recovery

  • Air compressors produce large amounts of waste heat, about 2,500 BTU/hp/hr, of which 80-90% can be captured

  • Air compressors are either water or air cooled, heat is typically removed by cooling towers or venting outside respectively

  • The most basic heat recovery is seasonal capture of waste heat for space heating applications

  • More complex systems can take heat from water or air cooled compressors and through the use of a heat recovery system transfer heat to liquid heat transfer loops. Typical applications include: Boiler makeup tempering, wash bath heating, hot water process water heating, process heat

  • CES has experience with using both OEM heat recovery systems from compressor manufactures as well as custom retrofit of existing and new equipment
